Alchemist’s art for summer, what can we mix to make art?

This course follows on as an extension for previous attendees to Cora’s courses but also suits new students wishing to ‘have a go’ with some art materials in a fun and relaxed environment. This 10-week course is based on using familiar mediums but in slightly different ways. We will revisit oils, this time working in ‘Alla Prima’ which means painted all at once, although we’ll spend two weeks on this, albeit we may do two paintings! The rest of the course will be spent looking at mixing mediums, by layering different paints, inks, pencil, charcoal etc., generally experimenting with the possibilities of mixed media!

Fees include use of all basic art materials. Please bring along an A3 sketchpad, we won’t use this all the time, but it is a useful place to store all your work in. A £4.00 contribution towards refreshments is requested for the whole course. There will also be an additional fee for a stretched canvass for week 1 & 2 dependent on size of canvass or students can source their own.
