Sew your own project 
With Lisa Smith-Clare
This eight week course is aimed at people who are already sewing and want to take their dressmaking skills further. You will work on any sewing pattern of your choice with the benefit of the tutors friendly support and knowledge to help you understand the pattern, work on fitting, pattern adaption and much more.
On this course you will receive any help you may require to work on your project, such as:
  •  how to read and understand patterns
  •  choosing the right cloth for your pattern
  • making the pattern adjustments that may be necessary to to get a fit for your measurements
  • how to make a toile
  • pattern hacking confidence
This course is designed for those already dressmaking who would appreciate further sewing tips and support in a friendly sociable group.

About the tutor

Lisa Smith-Clare is a self-taught dressmaker, with over thirty years experience. She studied Textile design initially before an English degree and then a career in Further Education teaching. Sewing is Lisa’s passion, she has always been a highly creative person and wears the vintage inspired clothes she has made everyday. She has a creative business Bobo Bun, where she sells vintage inspired accessories and takes on clothing commissions. Through her blog and instagram page the opportunity to make garments and review them for fabric companies came about. Lisa also teaches dressmaking at The Makeplace in Norwich.
